Rio or MGM Grand?

I am going to spend my 21st birthday in Vegas. I also will be staying for a week and enjoy some other hotels. My question would you recommend the Rio or MGM Grand? I am just looking for a nice, clean, and fun hotel to be at. Does either hotel have a liquor store nearby?

I would recommend MGM because it is on the strip. It is a fun hotel with a great vibe.

I would go with MGM, just for the fact of being on the Strip. From the Rio you%26#39;ll have to take a shuttle or a cab anytime you want to head to the Strip. You%26#39;ll be closer to all the action, bars, clubs by staying at MGM over the Rio.

If you%26#39;re staying a week, why not try both, like 5 nights at MGM %26amp; 2 at Rio. That way you don%26#39;t get burned out on one place. I wouldn%26#39;t stay all 7 nights at Rio, personally. I think since you%26#39;re celebrating that special birthday in Vegas you%26#39;ll want to spend at least a few nights right on the Strip. There%26#39;s a gas station convenience store about 2 blocks east on Tropicana from the MGM that sells booze. As for the Rio, I think maybe the Gold Coast nearby has a small one, or maybe I%26#39;m thinking of Orleans, which has a shuttle to GC. If you stay at the Rio be sure to ask for one of the remodeled rooms in the Ipanema Tower. I saw one when my friend stayed there in October and it was very nice %26amp; spacious.

Both are nice hotels, you would not do badly at either one. For your first time I would probably stay on the Strip and go with MGM.

Rio has bigger rooms, VooDoo Lounge, a lot of great places to eat %26amp; a free shuttle to the strip with stops at Caesars, Bally%26#39;s %26amp; Harrah%26#39;s.
