Bob Stupak's Vegas World

I was going through some old files and found my confirmation papers for my first ever Vegas trip.... to Bob Stupak%26#39;s Vegas World. Anyone else remember Bob?

You paid $398 up front for the package. Upon check-in they refunded $200 in cash (expecting you%26#39;d spend it in the casino, I%26#39;m sure), plus gave all sorts of extras.... $200 in table promo. chips that had to be played not cashed, $400 in slot machine free play (though it was special tokens then, not a card), 4 show tickets, free keno plays, and unlimited drinks (whether or not you were gambling).

Those were the days. What a frightening place, but it did get me to Vegas... though these days I prefer the Wynn or maybe the Flamingo!

Bob Stupak's Vegas World

Strange space age-gothic vibe in that place but the banners everywhere that said ';He%26#39;s Polish'; were just too much. Kind of weird, kind of cool.

I never stayed there but I bought a couple of packages for the free stuff and checked in. The area behind the place was pretty shady even back then.

:-%26gt;

Poor Bob was in a major motorcycle accident that really tore his face and body up. He rebounded and still retained his ';colorful'; personality.

Bob Stupak's Vegas World

I do remember Vegas World but don%26#39;t remember exactly where it was located...I want to think it was somewhere by stratosphere (or was that it?)

Sure do remember Bob! I never stayed there but I did go to VW. That had to be the creepiest casino ever! It was so dark and it had all those twinkling light, astronauts hanging from the ceiling and those mirrors! I couldn%26#39;t find my way out of the casino. Honest- it was so disorienting being in there I couldn%26#39;t find the door. I thought I would have to live the rest of my life in there- what a horrible thought!

For those not familiar with this creepy place-

I remember when he had his motorcycle accident and they had to put his face back together again like a jigsaw puzzle- piece by piece.

I understand he is still around playing poker.

On the spot where the Strat now stands.

I remember Vegas World too. That place was so weird.

So I was right!!Wow, so many places have come and gone that it%26#39;s hard to remember where everything was.

i read about this place a while ago ....i think stupak sold to the ppl who were builidng stratosphere.

sounded like an interesting (possibly wierd)place!

sounded like an interesting (possibly wierd)place!

Interesting? That is a nice way of putting it. More like- bizarre!

vp03,

What about the millions of lights over the Galaxy Bar and that giant wheel of fortune? OMG.

I had always heard the rooms were awful. I purchased the package (x2) for the drinks, gambling money, show tickets, and so on, we never even looked at the room. I should have done that once and learned my lesson. The only good that came from it was a couple of pretty good shows and I was able to learn to play a few casino games with the ';bankroll'; that came with the package.

The place hurt my head after a couple of hours.

Funny as hell, IMHO. They REALLY figured out how to %26#39;work%26#39; those package deals and make money every single trip.
