Okay, on the risk of sounding like a total newbie....I have gone onto freeslots and used the trainer to learn the ins and outs of VP, wanted to test my knowledge at Soaring Eagle in Michigan and found the VP machines. Hmmm, confused, how do you tell if they are 9/6 machines?
Video Poker QuestionAll the machines will have payout tables somewhere on them. Just look for those that pay out 9 coins(for each coin you put in) for a full house, 6 coins for a flush and 2 coins for two of a kind(JOB machines). This is the advantage of vp as opposed to slots- you know the payout in advance.

Big difference between pay tables and payout.
Payout is 99.5% with 9/6 JOB
Payout for slots is who knows??? Certainly won’t be 99.5% though.
Keep in mind that not all casinos offer any full-pay machines. The good news is that VPFREE lists Soaring Eagle as having 9/6 JOB at the $1 level on their bartops.
Good point Zeke. Judge, also keep in mind that the machine pay tables will vary from machine to machine within the casino. You have to hunt down the best machines in each casino. When comparing machines, look at the paytables for 1 coin in.
In case you didn%26#39;t notice, at Freeslots there is a button (';more games';) next to the trainer mode button where you can change the VP game.
It is not always easy to find 9/6 JOB machines on the strip. You will be better off looking for them downtown or at some of the off strip casinos(Gold Coast has many of them and they do have a free shuttle). Be sure to check-some of the strip casinos have 7/5 JOB machines- even at $1 or $5 JOB machines! I can%26#39;t believe people are actually playing on them!
Thanks all, I knew it would make me feel stupid, but I had to ask! I saw the payouts, but didn%26#39;t know what 9/6 meant! I knew to look for those machines that did pay 2 for 1 for two pair as opposed to one I started to play that was even money.
Thanks for all of your help.
I%26#39;m with VP. Finding the good paying vp machines is getting harder and harder. I couldn%26#39;t believe the number of people playing the 7/5 machines.
If a casino doesn%26#39;t have any 9/6 JOB Video Poker, isn%26#39;t playing 8/5 better than any alternative games, like Slots? And just how much difference is there between 9/6, 8/5 and 7/5?
exactly what VP game are you playing? 9/6 is what you want for JOB - for other games 9/6 may not be the best.
Don%26#39;t think all VP games are alike - they are not.
You know the proper machines since you can see the actual payout on the screen - and with 9/6 be sure to play where the payout is exactly as shown on www.bobdancer.com some are 9/6 and not the proper payout for 2 pair.
You MUST know the proper paytables - which is easy, so look at the machines.
also the VPfree website at yahooo will help you know where in each casino the machines are located, especially for casinos with a monitor. be sure to read the blog to see daily notes by players. machines move constantly.
