I haven%26#39;t checked prior posts so I%26#39;m sorry if this is a recent repeat....but I was wondering what everyone thinks of this Hofbrauhaus. I didn%26#39;t go during my last trip two years ago, and wanted to check it out during our visit next month, but wanted to know what other people thought. I%26#39;ve actually been to the one and only original in Munich - which was a BLAST. I know this probably won%26#39;t match that experience, but just want to get your thoughts on what the experience is like, how%26#39;s the crowd (if any), food, etc. Also, does there gift shop focus mainly on merchandise from the Vegas location, or do they have items from the Munich beer hall also?
Thanks in advance!! Prosit!
Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas
That place is as authentic as a German choclate cake.
Wonderful for the ignorant tourist.
Drink a pint of PEACH SCHNAPPS before you go.
Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas
Is it seriously that bad??
Ohhhh....it%26#39;s not that bad!!
I have been to the original in Munich as well, and to the one in Vegas a few times. Is it the same? No...but it%26#39;s not totally different.
It%26#39;s still the big beer hall atmosphere (just not quite as large! LOL). Long bench tables that you sit at with other people.
The beer is really good, and they do have seasonal beers. You can still order it in the big Litre steins, or they have smaller 1/2 litre sizes.
The food is pretty good. To me nothing compares to the sauerkraut in Germany %26lt;drool%26gt;%26gt;....but this is pretty good. They have usual german fare...sausages, winerschnitzel, etc.
They have ';oom-pah'; bands playing live music at night. Different bands from Germany rotate through every few months.
The gift shop has both Las Vegas and German based gifts (steins, t-shirts, even Hummels!)
There is also a bar area before you enter the dining hall if you want to grab a beer and a pretzel and not stay for a meal.
I think it%26#39;s worth a try...it%26#39;s a bit pricey, but fun. You can catch a cab from the Hard Rock across the street when you%26#39;re done drinking all the beer! =)
it%26#39;s just OK - we have a Busch Gardens nearby, it is the European themed park, and the food in ';Germany'; in the theme park is about the same.
no need to go to the HRH for a taxi - taxis will pick up at the restaurant, call for one or have the staff do it, a few minutes before you want one. At busy times 1 or 2 may be outside.
Bridgefan...we have had the staff tell us the past few times that we had to walk across the street to get a taxi. Just an FYI.....
Well, that makes me feel better. I%26#39;m not expecting it to even rival the original Hofbrauhaus in Munchen, but I still wanted to go just for the experience of doing it in Vegas - and just to re-experience the beer hall. The taxi situation shouldn%26#39;t really be a problem, as there are a few bars down on Paradise that we%26#39;ll plan on hitting after Hofbrauhaus, and I know you can get cabs there. Thanks for both of your posts! Very helpful!!
We were there a couple of years ago with good friends who had been to the original. While not an exact replica, they said it was close enough and we had a lot of fun. Good band, big beers, and we thought the food was very good. All is all, a fun place for a couple of hours! Perhaps we are easily pleased, but that was our take on it!
If the food is as good as the food in Germany in the Williamsburg Busch Gardens, then it is very good.
Our large group of hovering around 60 year olds found it excruciating loud and would never go again.
Thanks for all your input...very helpful!! I%26#39;ll definitely be going next month for a couple of litre%26#39;s and to enjoy the German atmosphere!!! Can%26#39;t beat that!!!
