still trying to plan my 50th next year. taking three weeks holls.Want to go to Vegas but also visit maybe san fransisco and Los Angeles, probably self drive via Death Valley. Is this achievable without rushing and any advice of whare to stay along the way. PS plan to stay at Bellagio in Vegas probably for 5 nights.

You don%26#39;t say where you land. We have driven from LA to San Francisco, then on to Yosemite then Death Valley and finnishing in Las Vegas. That was not rushed over 16 nights. Depending on when you travel will make a difference to the route you can take if you choose to go through Yosemite as the pass is closed for many months due to snow. It was closed when we did the trip at easter time. That just meant we drove down country and stopped in Bakersfield before going on to DV.

One other option would be, to fly into San Francisco and out of Vegas鈥︹€︹€︹€?.

Virgin Atlantic fly direct both ways, although you would have to fly from London.

Highway 1 and the Big Sur coast is an amazing drive, not to be missed IMO.

Just to reiterate what Clive has stated, it depends what time of the year you are travelling, on what you will be able to do.

If flexible hit Vegas Sunday to Friday, as the hotels are usually much cheaper during the week.

Dollar car rental, if booked through the UK web site, does not charge for 1 way hire if rented in California, Arizona, and Nevada.
