Hi to any one offering any tips,
we%26#39;re off to vegas in July and wish to drive to San Fran via G.Caynon, Yellowstone, Yosmite, LA and flying out of San Fran two weeks later!
Is this all do-able?
Is there anything we have missed which is a %26#39;must do%26#39;?
Is it best to get car hire in advance?
Thanks you to all that can help!

Hi
We have driven from SF to LV, I think you are going along way to visit Yellowstone, that%26#39;s not what I would call enroute. You can do Death valley though.
Also the Grand Canyon is not between LV and SF.
We always book our car via website at home and just take the voucher, so there is nothing to pay when you get there. This year we got the best deal with ebookers but you have to shop around each time as they all vary their prices.

Ah yes, Death valley, I%26#39;ll put that on the list!
Thanks Clive
2 weeks will be a very very tight schedule to include Yellowstone (towards NE) since that is quite out of the way for driving.
Vegas-GC-LA-Yosemite-SF is doable in that sequence.
Always hire car in advance so your trip will be more organized %26amp; cost effective.
Any of the must do in each area research further in each city TA forum and how many days you are spending in each dictate what those must dos are. Plus time in transit driving among the cities.
Have a great trip.
Last year we did a trip similar to this. We flew to Vegas went thru Death Valley up to Yosemite to Leggett California to see the giant Redwoods then to San Franscisco. we did this in 2 weeks.
Do check out the trip advisor forum for San fran and Yosemite people are very helpful.
We styed at the Columbus Motor Inn in San Fran. it is a very nice clean reasonable priced place to stay nothing fancy but with in walking distance to alot of things.
Yosemite is so beautiful always remember to look behind you because the scenery is just as beautiful.
Have a wonderful trip, we really enjoyed that trip.
Hi
As a must do (it was for us). A trip to Alcatrza but you must book this online before you go as there is always a waiting time. When we were there it was 2 days and that was at a quite time of year/week.
As for must do%26#39;s the list can be endless. It is best to sit down with a good map and look at possible routes then google places to see whats there or of course look on TA.
