Is it dangerous to walk to Slots-A-Fun?

We%26#39;re staying at Excalibur and we%26#39;re going to be there mid-week. We%26#39;re all in our early 20%26#39;s and theres 3 girls and 2 guys but only myelf and one of the girls wants to goto Slots-A-Fun. We understand it is like a 2 mile walk but is this a dangerous walk around 8-11pm at night on a weekday?

No it is not dangerous to walk in that area, but always have your guard up. It seem a little more isolated since they imploded Stardust %26amp; New Frontier %26amp; Westward Ho but it isn%26#39;t dangerous there.

I have stayed nearby at the Hilton a couple of times and at the old Starsust, and have never felt unsafe walking around that area at night.

I went alone in September and did not have any problem walking in that area at night. You can always jump on the Deuce, though. $5 for a 24-hour pass makes it worth having just in case you get sick of walking.

Vegas is on bizzaro time: weekends are busier than weekdays %26amp; night is more active than day.

I%26#39;m sure there%26#39;s plenty of people walking around the strip at that time. I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll have any problems. When I went in Jan, I sometimes took sidetrips through some casinos just to get out of the cold.

If you still feel unconfortable, get a ride on the Duce bus. You might be able to get an upper seat with a view and it can get just as fast as walking.

No, no and No.

Make the trip and enjoy the place, it is worth the walk for the Hot Dog alone. Add the cheap beer and its a no brainer.

You`ll be fine, obviously the guys won`t have their wallets in their back pockets as this is asking for trouble anywhere.

The only thing that is off putting on the strip is the the touts who are handing out '; cards '; for dancing girls ( I use this term very loosly !! ) to your room. I always find this a pain and wish something could be done about them !!

Worldtravelnut,

As a female walking around alone, the people handing out the cards didn%26#39;t phase me one bit. The only time I was a bit leary (mostly because I carry a backpack with more than one camera) was when I was waiting for the Deuce outside the Strat late at night and NO ONE was around except for a few people hanging out in the shadows.

Bobandjodi,

I do recommend walking as much as possible to get the ';full effect';. I only mention the bus because it doesn%26#39;t hurt to carry that bus pass around for only $5 a day. I personally found that stretch where between FSM and Slots-o-fun just depressing.

No, but keep in mind, you might want to bus back. As always, be aware and don%26#39;t do the walk if you%26#39;ve had too much to drink.

Walking past the now blown up Frontier, Stardust and Westword Ho is depressing.

Excalibur to Slots is a LOOONNNG Walk!

The walk home would be harder after all of those $1 beers!

We%26#39;ve stayed at Circus Circus in the past and Slots of Fun is virtually next door, we%26#39;ve wondered up and down the Strip , no problem, don%26#39;t worry.
