Binion's deal closed

http://www.lvrj.com/business/16489566.html

I would like to see their lousy 6/5 BJ rules got changed quickly. AFAIK, Binion%26#39;s has the most 6/5 BJ tables in downtown. It really su*ks.

Binion's deal closed

From what I was reading, does this mean that Caudill is going to rename it the Horseshoe CLUB? It would be nice to be able to refer to it as the Horseshoe in one form or another again.

Either way I love Binion%26#39;s (to gamble and play poker), it would be nice if they would fix the place up enough that I may consider staying there sometime.

If Terry Caudill can do for Binion%26#39;s what he has done for the Four Queens I can%26#39;t wait to see the results.

Binion's deal closed

Harrahs bought Binions at an IRS auction specifically to grab the World Series of Poker name, and the Horsehoe brand name. Harrahs then sold Binions to Mountaineer Gaming but Harrahs managed the casino for about a year. then left the mess that MNTG could not correct.

I think MNTG wanted to get more experience in operating table games which they now operate in West Virginia. since the table games were approved, they set out to dump Binions and it took more than a year to sell it. MNTG sold it for more than they paid but lost money virtually every month operating binion.

There is no way it will be renamed the Horseshoe. Harrahs will never allow it.

as a stockholder in MNTG, I am glad they got rid of the loser.

An interesting fact is West Virginia and Iowa are the only two states with table games and live thouroghbred racing at the same locations.

I actually got additional information myself.

Harrah%26#39;s owns the rights to the name ';Horseshoe'; and does cover any variation of the name so that even Horseshoe Club would be a violation of the copyright. What a shame, to me the place will always be known as the Binion%26#39;s Horseshoe Hotel and Casino.

I still hope that Caudill can fix this place, MTR just let it rot.
