Jet Blue Vacation Package - Flights plus MGM Grand 4 nights

I have just sourced a package for the above with Jet Blue for $1,002.49 for October this year.

To book this individually with both web sites:

the Jet Blue flight would be: $314.00

and MGM Accommodation $828.00

Totalling: $1.142.00

What I would like to know - Is there any reason for me NOT to go ahead and book this deal.

With a saving of $140.00 can anyone see me getting a better deal if I were to wait for a coupon or special with MGM.

Oct is a long way away you might get a better deal waiting and booking directly through the hotel. But who knows about flights. I still think it%26#39;s too early to book for Oct.

try usair; we got 4 nights at PH and flight out of Boston for $495.

You can definitely do better than $828.00 for MGM in October. I agree it is too early to book a hotel now for October. Wait and then book directly with the hotel. There are always fall specials after the summer ends. Or check with Expedia. They discount hotels often,

I agree thats a little high i would wait.

Thank you all for your help. I%26#39;d say I would need to look at booking the flight soon though ....will leave the hotel till later.

seems high to $314 a/f from the westcoast also seems high. no, i wouldn%26#39;t book this.

Yeah, both sound high...

Where on the west coast... I fly out of San Jose, Ca and tickets are around $200 (taxes included) for US Air

Depending on when you are going, many deals can be had at MGM. I%26#39;m thinking your price includes a weekend?

Is this your first trip to Vegas? If not do you have an MGM/Mirage Players Club card?

To Lowrance

The flights are out of Long Beach return and yes it is our first time to Vegas. Booking is for Wed -Sunday. Unable to stay Sun-Thurs so dates are firm.

I guess it doesn%26#39;t rally have to be MGM had heard and read excellent reviews that was all. Mid strip (seen as we%26#39;ll we walking) would be alot more convenient. ie Flamingo or thereabouts but reviews not the best of late. We are definitely not picky people in regard to hotel ammenities - pool being the drawcard. Do you or others have other ideas for us Lowrance (13yr daughter and myself.) All help really appreciated.

That room is way to high!!! You can book the airfare right now and book a room with a rate that is refundable and that you feel comfortable with. Keep watching the room rates and they should fall.

Okay, here%26#39;s some things I%26#39;ve thought about.

First your plan is for October so you have time.

Go online and sign up for a Players Club Card, and sign up for emails from both Harrahs hotels, and MGM/Mirage hotels.

You won%26#39;t get this card until you show up in person and show ID. But they will give you a card number on the web.

Fatwallet.com many times shows special codes for Vegas hotels for people with Players Club cards.

If you have the number, you can book online, then pick up your card when you arrive before you check in. Beware though, this is not 100% guaanteed. 95% of the people who have tried this weren%26#39;t even asked for their Players Club card at checkin. But I wouldn%26#39;t want you to be that 5%

Seeings how you live 4 hours away from Vegas. I%26#39;d drive uip for the day in the next few months, get the card, slip a few dollars in the slots, check out the Casino, then return home.

That way you have the card in hand.

Many deals on fatwallet.com come in around $69-$89. Those would work for your Wednesday and Thursday.

As far as kids hotels. MGM is a decent one. It has a fantastic pool, and an arcade, plus the Lions. Monorail starts there, and makes the rest of the strip easy to get to. Currently monorail has specials, and they%26#39;ve had the 24 hour pass at $8-$9 since last May or so....
