Just Back From Palazzo

Stayed at the Palazzo last Saturday and Sunday. We got a rate of $179.00/night with perks (coupons for $25.00 gaming, 20% discount on restaurant/bar, and an invited check-in).

Arrival - We arrived at the hotel at 9:45am Saturday.

Check-in was quick. They were very accommodating.

Our room was on the 20th floor facing the airport with a partial view of the Wynn golf course. The room was done in gray, black, taupe, and cream tones. The bed was extremely comfortable and a welcome sight after a long day and night. Turn down service was a nice touch. No problems with water pressure or room temperature. We were also given a late check-out. Only complaint was the clock. Hubby could not figure out how to set the clock.

There are 3 sets of elevators. First set of elevators were for floors 1-23, second set for floors 24-36, and the third set for floors 37-50. This meant never having to wait very long for an elevator.

Casino - It is not too big and not too small - just right and not very smoky.

Shopping - When all is said and done, there will be 3 floors of shopping. Mostly high end stores. We went into Barneys, but you know they are in a different league when you see a men%26#39;s tie for $280.00. Hubby bought an expesso for $3.50 in the gelato shop at the hotel and was charged .75 for dining in. Do they think they are in Italy? Save your money and wonder over to the Canal Shops at the Venetian, where an expresso will set you back $2.50 at the Bistro Bakery.

Dining - We ate at the Grand Lux. Food and Service was good. Unfortunately, when we got our food, the fire alarm went off for 20 minutes. We asked our waitress about it, and she said the same thing happend about a month ago. Trying to eat and carry a conversation on while the high pitch alarm is sounding and hearing the repeated instructions (which we could not understand) was unnerving, to say the least. One would think they could override the system. Also, ate at Bouchons in the Venetian for breakfast. Food and Service was excellent. Hubby had the American breakfast. It seemed expensive at first ($22.00), however, there was enough food for 2 people easily. Would definitely return on our next visit to Las Vegas.

Pool and Spa - We were given different times to when they would open. The front desk told us in a month and the girl at the spa told us early June. So who knows? We did not use the Venetian Spa, and we had hoped to use their pool, but it was too cold.

All is all, our stay was very enjoyable and we would stay here again.

Just Back From Palazzo

Hi, KNB! We walked through the Palazzo when we were there a week ago...I was so very impressed!

I found a couple of generous machines, and was wondering if it was ';opening generosity';......sometimes it seems the ';new'; casinos are generous at first, to get you back!

Glad you had a good time...even with the expensive beverages!

Just Back From Palazzo

Hey thanks for taking time to post, and I have been wondering what people would think of the place. Glad you had a good time.

Never sit down while drinking something in Italy- and now Vegas???? Hope this isn%26#39;t a new trend! lol

Looks like you had a really nice time. Yup, sound like the NYC Barneys all right! I wonder if they are going to do the store windows at Christmastime just like their NY store. That would be cool.

Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for writing a TR.

vp03 - the funny thing is that my hubby stood at the counter drinking his expresso - let%26#39;s hope the dining in charge doesn%26#39;t become a trend. LOL
