I was wondering if anyone has had any experience renting a car from Advantage-Rent-A-Car from the airport. I have been searching for good rental rates and they are by far the best for our needs. We were doing a %26#39;test run%26#39; on their website to see if any extra hidden costs came up during the reservation process. To our surprise, the reservation went through without even putting any credit card info in. We thought that this was odd. Just wondering if they are a credible rental agency. I don%26#39;t want any surprises when we get there!
This will be our third trip to Vegas, I have to thank everyone on this forum for great questions and advice. I sit on the sidelines and benefit from reading all the helpful information!
Thanks for all your help.
Advantage Rent-A-Car

Advantage Rent-A-Car
Read epinions.com feedback on Advantage, then for Hertz and Avis.
You may then use hotwire.com, prepaid and not refundable, but they use good companies like Hertz and Avis, at low prices.
Advantage has reports of rates going up if your plane is late, insurance addons, being charged for pre-existing or miniscule damage, crummy facilites, poorly maintained cars, sneering customer ';service';
Most major rental car companies do not require a credit card to make a reservation.
I%26#39;ve rented from them in Dallas %26amp; Corpus, and when my car was at the body shop my insurance company sent me to them. They%26#39;re reputable.
We rented a car from them at Christmas. We had delayed flights and missed connections which resulted in our being late by 13 hours! Advantage did NOT charge anything extra. We were actually upgraded and received a brand new vehicle with 4 miles on it.
Thanks for the advice everyone! I%26#39;ll keep checking the post, but I think I%26#39;ll gamble and give them a try.
We are trying them out this Wednesday....$56.00(12.08 a day) for 3 days. We were told it is a three day special BUT if picked up over 2 hours late and returning it over 2 hours early there will be a penalty. We most likely expect a fee for the second driver. When are you going? I%26#39;ll be sure to let u know how it all goes.
I rented with advantage Jan 5-12 this year, had a chevy cobalt (2007?)2-door with about 23k miles on it.paid $130 for 7 days. Lady desk said that the way it works is that you%26#39;re like leasing a car from them and whatever happens on the road it is your responsibility. I had a flat tire on the third day. I called them they said If i decide to return the car that way they would have to charge me $164 for a brand new tire! The cost of repair is not included in the rental price! Don%26#39;t know if this is the same for other companies! So I decided to go to a tire shop and repair the tire, cost me $5 (actually the cashier guy didn%26#39;t let me pay for the plug that should have costed $17, so I gave him a nice tip for that!). It is not cheap to repair a car that breaks down. But I think all their cars are less than 2 yrs old. If you decide to purchase their roadside assistance it is an extra $2 per day, but this does not include the repair itself.
off2vegas65 - Yes, let me know how you make out with your rental experience.
I am booking the car with Advantage for April 19th 11:30pm and returning it April 24th 10:00pm. I just looked at their website again - it keeps getting %26#39;sweeter%26#39;. I can now book an Intermediate car (similar to an Avenger) for $78.40 (they say total cost - at $9.77/day).
I am almost becoming more concerned about the %26#39;insurance issues%26#39;. I plan on not taking any extra coverage (which I heard they use high pressure/threats to get you to take it) and hoping that my personal auto insurance will cover any major incidents if needed. Does anyone have any advice on that?
I have been trying to read up on various posts regarding all the rental agencies - mixed review for all.
Thanks for the info.
That does sound like a very attractive rate. I worked for Advantage for like 2 days earlier in life and I hated it, but that means nothing! As for insurance, you%26#39;ll either have to review your policy carefully or call your insurance agent if in doubt. Unfortunately no one here can answer that for you. Make sure you not only specify it%26#39;s a rental car but a U.S. rental. It might make a difference, might not.
