Any wedding chapel horror stories?

Hi Guys

Going down end of April to get married. My fiance has been looking for chapels and came across a few horror stories about reservations not being honoured..chapels closed...limo%26#39;s not showing up or filled with garbage. Any advice or recommendations on where to go would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi there - the main culprit used to be the Garden of Love Wedding Chapel but that was closed down by the City last year. Try theknot.com - the girls there on the local Vegas board will be able to give you the most up-to-date do%26#39;s and don%26#39;ts. And you might also find www.las-vegas-weddings.co.uk useful for other research.

Have a great wedding!

We did a renewal for our 25th at Chapel of the Bells. Vegas tacky but they did a nice job, were very easy to deal with and gave us exactly what was promised.

Thanks. As a matter of fact I was looking at the chapel of the bells..kind of don%26#39;t mind the tacky part as I think it%26#39;s part of a Vegas marriage. I will get the little lady to check out the sites.

Little church of the west is not tacky at all. The building has great Vegas history and is so very quaint. Just be sure to get the ceromony you booked and the picture package you prepaid for. (be sure to print off your papers when booking and have them in hand) I got screwed on the photo package and they did a civil ceromony when I repeatedly told them how important the christian ceromony was too us. Thank goodness it was a second marriage I would have freaked had I been a first time bride!! The staff was friendly and they went out of their way for my floral request. The limo arrived more than on time to my hotel. The chapel was very clean and just beautiful. Good luck.

Frank - do you need to get another license to renew your vows?

Got married at the little church of the west in 2003 and had a wonderful ceremony. Everything went off without a hitch, the only thing I will say is that I did feel a little bit rushed but that was probably a good thing as I didn%26#39;t have time to stand around and get more pre wedding jitters. Once the ceremony was over, I was fine. Our pictures turned out great and the staff was very friendly and the minister gave us a really nice service. Prices here are very reasonable and they did a wonderful job with our flowers. I live in Seattle and planned this wedding long distance so I was a little bit worried that things might go wrong but all went very well.

Congratulations and best of luck to you both.

Italianprincess, you can%26#39;t be issued another license if you%26#39;re already married for vow renewal. Some chapels require that you show your original marriage license though.

You may want to consider one of the hotels too. We are getting married in May at the Flamingo. They have several locations but we are getting married in their wedding gazebo in their tropical gardens.
