hello we have booked a suite in the plaza on a fri and sat night at $103 a night which can be cancelled. can anyone recomend this hotel as it has terible reviews on tripadvisor. the basic room is $40 a night is it worth paying the extra for the suite.
also what other hotel would you all recommend downtown at a reasonable price as the golden nugget is to expensive. our dates are 10 and 11th october.
thanks
PlazaI%26#39;m no expert on Downtown and I%26#39;m sure others will give good advice, but I know that 4 Queens and Main Street Station get generally positive reviews.
PlazaWe always like to stay downtown at the Fremont. It%26#39;s just been remodeled about a year ago. The regular rooms are small (especially the bathroom) - but they are always clean and nice. The staff is always accomodating and friendly. And the suites are nice. Not fancy like some hotels, but nice. I have also heard that the 4 Queens remodeled recently and they are nice rooms now.
I just checked on the Four Queens website..they are showing $119 per night for October 10 %26amp; 11th. Not a bad rate for a weekend, and people really seem to like the rooms there vs.the ones at the Plaza.
Hi
I take you have never been in the Plaza? I have and it is horrible IMHO. I would never stay there, I know you say you are on a small budget but I take it this is your holiday all the way from Worcester!
I really think you should change that choice, maybe MSS or 4 Queens, I am sure you will get a far better room for your money.

Plaza is pretty dirty downstairs, and most of the employees are not very motivated. Food is bad too.
Only good thing about the plaza is the pool, which they close at 6 or 7.
Have had much better luck with the 4Queens, and even Fitzgeralds and El Cortez in the right tower. I would book the MSS if reasonable.
Have stayed in the LV Club which has pretty small rooms, and some have stuccoed furniture ! but they do give you pool access to the Plaza.
Any place would be better than the Plaza.
There are plenty of better rooms in Vegas for less than 100.00 a nite.
You dont have to stay downtown.
Be flexible.
I highly recommend the 4 Queens, the Fremont Hotel and the El Cortez. The El Cortez Tower rooms are the largest of the 3. I%26#39;ve stayed at all 3 of them and would be a much better choice than the Plaza IMO. The restaurants at the 3 of them are very good.
