Using $20 tip when staying for 10 nights

I was wondering if the $20 tip would work for a stay a Venetian for 10 nights? I was thinking more on the lines of a $50 tip or even a $100 tip.

Would the tip amount really affect if the upgrade would work or not? I thought that being nice when asking would be more effective than the tip amount. Any thoughts?

Has anyone ever had any success with the $20 at Venetian. Furthermore has any had any success with the $20 staying at any hotel for 10 night or more?

Nobody can truly say if the ';trick'; works irrespective of what amount is offered. People may claim successes but who%26#39;s to say that they wouldn%26#39;t have gotten the upgrade anyway just by being polite and asking nicely? This is my approach and sometimes I%26#39;ve been successful (as used my $20 as a tip) and other times I haven%26#39;t. No big deal - if I really want that better room for whatever reason I%26#39;ll reserve and pay for it.

Regarding the ten nights situation, I%26#39;m certain that some people have been upgraded for a stay of that length. It would be a lot easier to do this at a quiet time such as December than when there%26#39;s a large convention or other event in town. It all comes down to availability and the attitude of the check-in person on that given day. The experiences of others aren%26#39;t of any great significance when it comes to your own circumstances. By all means try it and good luck.... :-)

I stayed at The Venetian in February and by just being polite when checking in they upgraded my room. So i would suggest being nice can certainly pay off. Have a great stay, it%26#39;s a great hotel!

Shouldn%26#39;t the fact that you%26#39;re staying for 10 nights be a good enough argument for the hotel to give you an upgrade without having to use the $20 tip?

I mean...most people stay for only a couple of days.

In september i%26#39;ll be staying in the Sahara for 11 nights and i%26#39;m going to use the length of my stay as an argument to get a free upgrade. Maybe that will work. Just ask friendly.

dpvz75, a longer stay invariably means much less chance of an upgrade as it%26#39;s unlikely that the better room will be available for that many nights. Remember that at weekends Vegas hotels are often close to full occupancy. There%26#39;s every chance that the nice Strip view room you%26#39;d like to be moved into will be spoken for when it comes to Friday and Saturday nights.

The longer stay will actually work against you. They may have the upgraded room available for midweek, but not for the weekend.
