Woot $20 Trick worked at the Bellagio !

checked in just now, did the $20 trick and got upgraded to a full lakeview room (was also offered a Tower Deluxe room), it%26#39;s awesome ! My reservation was for a bog standard room.

I didn%26#39;t think i had a chance because i have been checked the thread on the the $20 trick at Fat Wallet and not many were successful at the Bellagio

I did put a lot of the good old Aussie charm and there was only a small queue but i was watching the %26#39;mood%26#39; of the check in staff. I was definitely going to go with a female, that goes without saying and there were 2 who i thought my chances were best with and i was right.

Congrats Peterpack, but you are breaking the hearts of all those who want to tell you off for even trying such a nasty trick.

Bobandjodi showed his/her/their class again. I%26#39;m sure he/she/it has been to Australia many times to offer such a clever and informed comment.

Glad it worked for you - now get off the computer and go and enjoy Las Vegas.

Thank you!!

I appreciate the compliment from someone living in a state that elected Hillary Clinton and Elliot Sptizer. You are on a roll!

Congrats, Peterpack. Now quit sitting at your computer and go enjoy Vegas!

Good for you!!!

Are you still coming to our little M%26amp;G on March 24 at Tequila Bar?

Looking foward to meeting you.

Why the heck does anyone think this is a nasty trick? Go for it. Good for you, Peterpack! Glad you got it!

Glad you made it to Vegas Peterpack. Did you ask her where to get a good haircut? Maybe she does that on the side!

Have a great time!

good for the upgrade - are you sure it was the $20?

The only way to know is if this happens - ask for an upgrade, be turned down, give the clerk the $20, ask again and receive upgrade.

Upgrades usually depend more on capacity, type of rooms available, your length of stay - and a dose of charm does help, and the guest services staff may have seen you were from Australia. Before shift the staff is given guidelines on the hotel status for that day, they know what they can and can not issue.

I doubt it was the $20, unles you can confirm you were first denied without any money being offered and then receiving upgrade only after making the offer.

I don%26#39;t think for you it%26#39;s important to know - for others visiting after you it may be.

Enjoy

Agree with Bridgefan. I%26#39;ve been upgraded at ph the the Venetian. Neither time did we ask, we were just nice and chatty with the clerk and they volunteered the upgrade. On neither occasion was there any indication that a gratuity was expected for this.

If a better room than the one you%26#39;ve paid for is going to be empty for the duration of your stay, it makes commercial sense for the hotel to upgrade you. It doesn%26#39;t cost them anything, and you%26#39;re more likely to tell everyone you know what a great place it is鈥?/p>
