Monorail

Have you used the Monorail? How did you like it? I am thinking about purchasing the 10 tickets taht you can share for about $35.

Monorail

I personally like and use the monorail. I find it convenient if I%26#39;m traveling on that side of the strip. I%26#39;ve used it from Bally%26#39;s to MGM...and from Flamingo all the way down to Sahara (and a few stops in between).

Many people will say ';It%26#39;s too far to walk to the stations, etc. etc.';. Well..I don%26#39;t find to be the case. Again..just my opinion. I find it easier than fighting the crowds on the strip sometimes.

Monorail

You had better think about that some more. Unlees you are staying at one of the hotels with a monorail stattion and attending a convention at say the Convention Center by the Hilton, the monorail is pretty much useless. It is not going bankrupt because its popular mode of transportation, and in fact one of the reasons for the financial meltdown going on right now in the country.

It is very convenient to get to and from hotels on the east side of the strip. Beyond that, its convenience begins to decline.

I agree with everything that CoTravelfan said.

Even if you are traveling to an opposite side of the strip, it will save your legs and some time, too. Yes, you have to walk through the back of some of the casinos, but I don%26#39;t look at that as a bad thing. Also, in the summer, it%26#39;s nice to sit in air conditioning to get to your next destination.

When we were there a couple of months ago they were running a special of $9/24 hours. That definitely was worth it. We have been to Vegas before the monorail was there and afterward, and the monorail has made our trips more enjoyable.

I think the monorail is only useful if you are going from the south strip to the Sahara, Hilton or convention center. I used it when it was free and had only two stops- Bally%26#39;s and MGM. The hike from the strip to the station and then from the station to the strip was a waste of time. I thought it would have been faster and more convenient if I had just walked from Bally%26#39;s to MGM. Which is exactly what I did on the return trip-and this was in summer. I rode it for free- and I felt they overcharged me!

I%26#39;m sure these may be stupid questions (first trip to LV) but is there a map of the station locations posted anywhere?

How often does the monorail run? How easy is it to use to get between Palazzo/Venetian and the Convention Center?

That%26#39;s not a stupid question, go to www.lvmonorail.com. Follow the prompts to the station locations.

Hi javajoy, Just sent you a message about the monorail. If you didn%26#39;t get it, try and send me a message. I%26#39;ve got some info for you. Jim

We like it and always use it when we%26#39;re in Vegas. Just wish it was a little bit cheaper (like me, lol).

Is the monorail clean, safe, and well maintained, or is it similar to Chicago%26#39;s CTA?
