We are so happy to be heading to LV this week for a family wedding reception, and to have our two college-aged women along, as well as the younger two kids. Couple of questions: One daughter just turned 21, and has invited her mom :) to go out ';somewhere'; to have a drink. Is there a great spot that would suit us both (mom turns 50 within a month, but is young at heart!!, but still a mom...think ';appropriate';) Daughter #2 is 19, but not a drinker, and, duh, not legal...are there any spots that would give her a taste of Vegas nightlife while maintaining the rules...I%26#39;m sure the sixteen year old would tag along in a minute, but we may be pushing it there...Thanks!

Maybe Firefly Tapas Bar? It%26#39;s a trendy tapas restaurant a lot of people go to before or after the clubs, popular for sangria but they have pretty much anything to drink, and the teenagers would be allowed in (a lot of local under-21s hang out here late night). You can cover it all there and have some tasty snacks too.

The good news is that the 19-year old and the 16-year old will be treated the same. The bad news is they both will be treated like 8-year olds.
In Vegas, if you aren%26#39;t 21, you pretty much are a child.
This is tough because of the 19 year old. She will not be able to get into anywhere unless it is a restaurant and bar.
So I would suggest going to Margaritaville or Diablo%26#39;s.
you didn%26#39;t say what part of town you will be in, or whether you will have a car.
what type of music do YOU like !
Zeke- If you are not 21 you are treated like an 8 year old? You know that from experience? What is that comment about?

Anyway tennisfan- There are many great restaurants all of you can go to and your daughter can buy you a drink. Otherwise, maybe you and her could have some time for the two of you to enjoy that adult moment.
It%26#39;s hard to suggest places without knowing where you are staying.
This will be so fun! We will have a car, and ';dad'; as driver, so can get most anywhere. We are staying at the Meridian and then the Red Rock. Late arrival Thursday night (but, hey, we%26#39;ll be in Vegas, so maybe no problem!), Friday and Saturday are devoted to wedding reception/family events, so it looks like an afternoon outing or Sunday evening (Red Rock area). Music--I%26#39;d say not TOO loud for me :), she is contemporary, but mellow. Thanks for your thoughts!
If you%26#39;re in the Red Rock area, try out Agave! It%26#39;s a tequila bar/Mexican restaurant so plenty to drink and eat. I%26#39;ve held a few events here, and everyone is always pleasantly surprised.

It terms of getting into places and activities, and 8 year old and a 19 year old are treated the same in Vegas. If you are under 21, you are a child. There%26#39;s no place a 19 year old could get away with, but a 16 year old can%26#39;t.
Zeke- I now understand where you were coming from. I just assume she knows the underage could not go to a bar, and was looking for a fun place for all of them. In that respect Vegas is no different than here in Chicago if you%26#39;re under 21.
There ya go tennisfan! A few tequila shots with your daughter. Sounds like a fun afternoon to me!
